Computer System Motherboard
The motherboard is the main circuit board inside your computer. It is the largest and most complicated piece of equipment within a computer case. It houses the central processing unit (CPU) the BIOS, the chipset, the system bus and main memory (RAM and ROM) Located on the motherboard are also expansion slots for adding devices and power connections. All of the peripheral devices on a computer are installed directly on the motherboard or are linked to it by a cable connection. The main purpose of the motherboard is to coordinate all the individual processes of each component so they all work properly together. The main system board is what processes input from a computer user and produces output which is seen on the computer screen.

I hate motherboards. Well maybe hate is too strong of a word but every time I hear about motherboards I get angry. They’re damn expensive yet their only role is connecting stuff with each other. Plus wrong motherboard means that you can install some hardware because there’s simply no appropriate slot.

When I tried to log on to my pc, a message saying “there are not sufficient resources to load” my account with the default something-or-other popped up. The message had a timer that was going to close the box, and then when it closed it would not log me on. I couldn’t turn it off normally so I cut the power. When I turned it back on I logged on fine?
I read here Worcester PC Repair but couldnt make sense?

I have an old motherboard, maybe 8 years old now?
The whole computer works great, plenty of ram and all that jazz. MY only regret is i built this box right before the PCI-express graphic slot became popular. I have the old PCI type slot.
The only thing I would care to upgade on this computer is the graphics card, but of course it is not easy finding one.
Guess I will buy a new computer when Windows 7 is out.

any motherboard that you dont find in the middle of the street will support atleast 1GB of RAM. i was looking at something the other day that intel makes for only like $5000. that sounds like lot but for 64GB of ram i think its good.

I bought an ASROC several years ago and everyone told me it was crap, but I haven’t had any trouble with it in three years. Everyone seems to think ASUS is the best and they may be, but I’m happy with mine. It will take up to 3GB RAM.

The RAM is different. You are running DDR in the current system and the new MB takes DDR2. Thats a terrible board IMO. The processor is older but if your not gaming, it should be fine.

Good post. Now so many motherboards are available in the market, and the latest one is MSI 890GXM-G65. The MSI 890GXM-G65 is an interesting board in that it has the features to be among the best in the business with the support for both USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps.
